Taking God's Healing Love to the Nations

  The photo not taken.

November 14, 2008

Dear ones,

We have just returned from Oruro, an arid city at 12,159 feet above sea level. We saw many wonderful things, some of which we were able to take photos of. BUT, many of which we couldnÕt because of their personal nature. Can you imagine having the privilege to pray for a mom and young son (maybe 7 years old) crying together because of her serious illness, their tears mingled on the floor? Or, visiting a family whose 5-year-old son had what was supposed to be a minor surgery and because of a mistake in the anesthesia, came out in a vegetative state.

His parents have so much hope and lack of bitterness. The week before the campaign, the parents had been planning to prosecute the doctors and this would have put the doctors in jail. (Suits lack clout because of lack of money.) The father said that on the night that Bob taught on Inner Healing, he was able to pray and deeply forgive the doctors. This is a true miracle of the heart!

We went to Oruro in a ÒflotaÓ (a large bus) and prayed our way through the mountainous region with steep precipices. Much poverty was evident on the trip, as people make their harsh living in the rural areas, sheep, goat and llama herding and living on small parcels of land, sown with potatoes and beans.

 Ministering at the Oruro campaign.

The church where we ministered is an Assemblies of God congregation with 500 members. Pastor Felipe invited us to bring a team for a four-day campaign teaching on healing prayer and deliverance ministry. We had the privilege of praying for many persons seeking a touch from God to heal broken hearts and be set free from demonic oppression.

Oruro is a city where open acknowledgement and placating the devil is widely practiced. It was truly a blessing to witness the Holy Spirit come in power to literally shake individuals free from strongholds! Our God is a mighty deliverer.

  The "Tea Conference"

One afternoon, we held a ÒTea ConferenceÓ for about 30 leaders and pastors from different churches. Bob presented a bold challenge to call all pastors and churches in Bolivia to unite in prayer and oneness of purpose to impact Bolivia with genuine revival. A vision was shared about the potential for a large event to take place next Spring in which believers from all parts of Bolivia would gather in Cochabamba, the heart of the country. WeÕre believing God for the impossible, His unique type of work!

A special joy for us was the diversity in the congregation! The women seen in this photo sang a praise song in one of the indigenous languages, Aymara. They were accompanied by traditional instruments.

 Praise songs

The pastor and his wife lovingly proclaim the GOOD NEWS and cultivate all believersÕ gifts and hearts of worship. This is especially significant in light of the cultural inheritance of pagan beliefs that they willingly renounce.

So, we give thanks to our Father in Heaven who has allowed us the privilege of coming alongside pastors like this, and their congregations, to teach and pray for the freedom and wholeness in Christ that He always meant for us to have.

Thank you for your prayers and support!

Much love in Christ,

Bob and Meg
